Saving Lives in Remote Regions of the World

Oct 21, 2022

The ability to administer blood pre-hospital is life-saving in emergencies or in remote regions of the world where access to a medical facility is challenging. The team for the Norwegian Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) knows this well.

HEMS Kirkenes is based in Finnmark County, the northernmost and easternmost county in Norway. Although by area Finnmark is Norway’s largest county, even larger than the neighboring country of Denmark, it is also the least populated of all Norwegian counties. A large region that’s sparsely populated can mean hours of travel to reach those who need help in isolated locations.

The team at the Norwegian HEMS knew having blood on board was critical and selected the Crēdo ProMed™ carry bag for transport. Read more about why the team selected the Crēdo ProMed™ carry bag and how it supports their life-saving work in our recent case study.
